Prabalgad is a fort located between Matheran and Panvel and comes under the Raigad District in the state of Maharashtra, India. The Fort stands at an elevation of 2,600 feet in the Western Ghats. Built by the Bahmani Sultanate, this massive fort has witnessed the rise and fall of powerful kingdoms, such as the Marathas and the Mughals. Learning about the tales of bravery surrounding this fort would be an awe-inspiring experience. The top of the ruined Prabalgad is covered with dense trees and also has a water cistern.

Kaldurg Fort is situated to the East of Palghar, Maharashtra, India in the Sahyadri mountain range of northern Konkan. It is strategically situated at a height of at least 475 meters above sea level, giving views of the Arabian Sea and the industrial town of Palghar to the west, as well as views of the Surya River to the east.

Very few forts, to the north of Mumbai in Palghar region of Thane district, are still showing their existence, among which is the fort of Kohoj. This fort lies at about 10 to 11 kms. from Wada on the route of Wada – Palghar. Very few of the historical evidences are coherent to this fort. Looking at its well-dug cisterns, the fort can be said to be belonging to Bhoj-period. In 16th century, Portuguese captured this fort from the King of Gujarat. They constructed fortifications and bastions on this fort. Later, in 18th century, Peshwe conquered this fort in their campaign of 1737. Afterwards the fort remained under the British rule.
